Reimagining the interior of this small-scale studio apartment, measuring a total of 35 sqm. was no easy task.

Comprising a small bathroom, and separate space for sleeping, cooking and relaxing, imaginative planning and careful precision was essential to turn what was once an unworkable studio into a coherent living space with separate divisions.

Working within a limited space, it was important to celebrate the clients’ interests and personality; as academics, this involved incorporating their impressive collection of books through the installation of a gallery wall. A bespoke kitchen was created to maximise the space and all the necessary appliances… even a dishwasher. Meanwhile, the bed was positioned on a step wrapped by curtains to create further divisions within the apartment.

The exciting variety of paint colours were chosen from the luxury colour pallete of the Little Greene Paint Company to complement the timeless materials and wallpaper selected from the world-renowned designs of Morris & Co. Lighting by Il Fanale and Lucent Lighting added a sense of warmth into the studio, harmonising the space to provide the perfect balance between cosy and contemporary.
