A family home, spread out over four floors, is a unique project which includes the complete redesign of four teenage bedrooms, a master bedroom, cinema room and entrance lobby. Each side of the house had a different purpose and despite the teenagers giving their own briefs for the room designs, from superheroes and technology to bohemian and at one with nature, it was important that all rooms still worked together.
Previously damp and unused, the basement has been transformed into an elegant cinema-cum-living space which subsequently inspired the design of the rest of the house. Appropriately named, ‘the magic room’ the space also boasts a kitchenette, providing a cosy space to prepare drinks and snacks before a film. A fantastic space for the teenagers to socialise together. Leading to the magic room is a magic corridor where distorted mirrors paired with Matteo Bianchi’s ‘Baffo Spot’ lights create drama.
