Duende

Crafting a Michelin start Chef’s vision in Covent Garden.

Duende was born from a singular vision: Mr. V., an emerging trailblazing chef with South American origins, dreamed of a restaurant that would embody both charm and vibrancy in the heart of Covent Garden. He sought to create a space reminiscent of Barcelona’s intimate side streets, where guests could discover a sense of wonder, warmth, and connection. The brief called for an atmosphere that exuded sophisticated roughness—an elegant yet unpolished feel reflecting the spirit of Spanish tapas culture. We embraced Mr. V.’s ambition, infusing the design with materials and textures that celebrate individuality. Rich copper clads the bar, serving as a radiant centrepiece, while leather upholstery offers a tactile invitation to linger. Dark, moody colors, balanced by soft, ambient lighting, give the restaurant a seductive allure, ensuring it feels exclusive yet approachable—a true sanctuary from the city’s pace. Every detail was carefully considered to channel the enigmatic duende, the emotional energy that elevates experience. Duende stands as a testament to bold, bespoke design choices and a chef’s courageous vision, creating a home away from home where culinary passion and stylish atmosphere inspire unforgettable moments.
